What do Surgical Physician Assistants do?
A Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) works with a surgeon to care for patients before, during, and after a surgical procedure.
Responsibilities include preparing patients, providing exposure to the surgical site, handling instruments, assisting with techniques such as suturing and cauterization, and monitoring patients during their recovery.
Surgical PAs require a master’s degree from an accredited program, national certification, state licensure, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Surgical Physician Assistant Responsibilities
