Develop Treatment Plans: They create personalized, interdisciplinary treatment programs that may include:

  • Medications: To manage pain or underlying conditions. 
  • Injections, such as nerve blocks or joint injections, are used to relieve pain and inflammation. 
  • Therapies: Physical, occupational, and speech therapies to restore function and improve daily activities. 
  • Rehabilitation: Strategies to help patients adapt to and manage significant physical impairments. 
  • Assistive Devices: Recommending and helping to integrate equipment like wheelchairs and splints. 

Manage Chronic Conditions: They address conditions like chronic back pain, stroke, and brain injuries that cause functional limitations. 

Collaborate with Teams: They work with a team of other health professionals to provide holistic care and guide patients toward their functional goals.
