Medicare

The following are the total number of Neuroradiologists who accept Medicare in your State, the number who have opted out of Medicare, and the total number excluded from participation in Medicare nationwide.

The diagram below shows all the Neuroradiologists across the country, represented by blue bubbles. The larger the bubble, the greater the concentration of providers in that area. Red bubbles represent Medicare-excluded providers, with the larger bubbles indicating a higher percentage of excluded providers in that region. You can change the bubble size to be based on exclusions from the Size menu.

What do Neuroradiologists do?

Neuroradiology physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spine, and head and neck using neuroimaging techniques such as CT and MRI.

They interpret these detailed images to identify conditions such as tumors, strokes, and degenerative diseases, and some also perform minimally invasive procedures, like angioplasties or stent placements, to treat these conditions.

What they do

Diagnose conditions: They use advanced imaging techniques such as CT scans, MRIs, and angiography to detect and diagnose a wide range of conditions affecting the brain, spine, and head and neck.

Interpret imaging studies: Neuroradiologists are experts at interpreting complex medical images to provide detailed information to other medical specialists, such as neurosurgeons and neurologists.

Guide treatment: The images they create and interpret help surgeons locate tumors, plan procedures, and guide medical instruments.

Perform treatments: Interventional neuroradiologists can also perform minimally invasive procedures to treat various conditions, including brain aneurysms, spinal compression fractures, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).

Common Conditions Diagnosed and Treated

Head and Neck: Head and neck cancers, cranial nerve dysfunction, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain.

Brain: Tumors, aneurysms, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and various neurovascular conditions.

Spine: Degenerative conditions, traumatic injuries, spinal tumors, and chronic low back pain.
