Chiropractors are healthcare professionals who specialize in the neuromusculoskeletal system, which encompasses the spine, nerves, muscles, and joints.

Assess and Diagnose

Chiropractors perform physical examinations, take medical histories, and may order imaging tests (e.g., X-rays) to identify musculoskeletal issues such as spinal misalignments, disc herniations, and nerve impingements.

Provide Spinal Adjustments

The primary treatment offered by chiropractors is spinal manipulation, also referred to as chiropractic adjustments. These involve applying controlled force to specific vertebrae to improve alignment and reduce nerve interference.

Treat Musculoskeletal Conditions

Chiropractors treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and whiplash.

Promote Wellness

In addition to spinal adjustments, chiropractors may provide other interventions to support overall wellness, such as:

  • Exercise and rehabilitation recommendations
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Lifestyle modifications
  • Soft tissue therapy (e.g., massage, stretching)

It’s important to note that chiropractic care is a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approach, and its effectiveness for certain conditions may vary.
