What do Adult Companions do?

Adult companions provide social engagement and non-medical assistance for daily living to support a person’s well-being and independence, including companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and transportation. 

They address issues like loneliness and isolation by engaging in activities such as conversations, games, walks, and outings, helping to maintain both mental and emotional health.

Practical Assistance

Household Tasks: Companions perform light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, and tidying, and handle laundry, including washing, drying, and putting clothes away. 

Meal Support: They can assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring dietary needs are met. 

Errands and Shopping: Companions help with grocery shopping, prescription pick-ups, and other errands to ensure essential items are acquired. 

Transportation: They provide transportation to medical appointments, social events, and other community activities, ensuring access to essential services. 

Support for Family Caregivers

Communication: Companions serve as an essential link to families, facilitating communication among family members and other care professionals to ensure coordinated, personalized care. 

Respite Care: Companion services offer a much-needed break for family caregivers, providing peace of mind that their loved one is safe and engaged.
